Obituary for William Joseph Dorn

William J. Dorn, age 82, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18. William (Bill) was born in Mankato, Minnesota on January 16, 1937, to the late Sylvester and Mary (Krautkramer) Dorn and grew up with his younger sister, Jean (Dorn) Rausch of St. Louis Park, MN. Bill graduated from Mankato State University and pursued a career in journalism, moving to Minneapolis for a position with The Miller Publishing Company. He went on to found Dorn Communications, Inc., a publishing and public relations company, which he operated for 21 years before retiring to northern Minnesota. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Good Samaritan Woodland for their compassion and sensitive care in these final years as Bill struggled with the effects of severe dementia. Bill is survived by his three children Janine Hron (Fred) Leawood, KS; Patrick Dorn (Maureen) McFarland, WI; and Julie Dorn Columbia, MO; along with six grandchildren, Nathan Hron, Carolyn Dorn, Patrick Dorn, Nick Hron, Danielle Dorn and Regan McBride.
The family will be honoring Bill’s life in a private remembrance.
