Obituary for Thomas George Kramer

Thomas Gorge Kamer, age 67, of Motley, passed away on December 23, 2019 at Lakewood Health System. Tom was born on February 16, 1952 in Staples to Joseph & Helen (Kieffer) Kramer. Tom married his High School sweetheart, Robin Thorn in 1972. They made their home in Anoka for 36 years.
Tom had a love of helping people. He enjoyed cutting wood with Paul, snowmobile trail grooming with Mick, or having a cup of coffee with his aunt Florence. Put him in the wood’s deer hunting with Zachary, Joe and Bob, he was guaranteed to have a smile the whole time. He also like fixing things at church with Greg but riding his John Deere tractor in the snow or mowing grass for hours was his joy. Sundays were reserved for the Vikings Games. He was proud of his 42 years work at Coffmann Memorial Union, at the University of MN as Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. He loved that Building, the students, and the fulltime staff that worked for him. He was known to them as TK. He always had his radio on and set to 94.5 KS95-Rock on!
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Robin; children: Joseph (Carli) Kramer and Jackie (John) Stockhausen; grandchildren: Zachary, Brianna, Nicholas, Kyle, Josephine, Maddy, Kennyn and Devyn; great granddaughter, Kalynn; sisters: MaryLou (Pat) Corkran and Janice Hallwachs; brother, Ron (Carol) Kramer; brothers-in-law, Robert Thorn and Gary (Peggie) Thorn; sister-in-law, Gayle (Bruce) Quinn; nieces and nephews: Debbie, Sue, Tim, Dan, Sandy, Vicky, Doug, Holly, Morgan, Carlyn, Andrew, Laurie, Shelly, Tracy, Gary, Mark, Mike, Taunee, Mitch, Jim, LeAnn, and their spouses and children.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11AM at Motley United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

I can still see your easy, mischievous smile, and hear your quick laugh. I can still envision you standing with your family and friends, your hands tucked into the front pockets of your jeans. You were always ready to give a reply, whether we needed it or not, and always that look over your shoulder with that never ending grin. These memories will remain with me forever, Uncle Tom. And since they took you way to soon, show 'em what you've got, show 'em who you are, I'll wait for the fireworks.
Missing you like crazy, and sending all my love,

Robin and family,
TK was truly beloved by all of us Coffman Union folks. We have so many great and fun memories over the years. It’s hard to believe he’s left us so soon. Our hearts and thoughts are with all of you during this sad time. Maggie Towle, and on behalf of current and former staff who worked with TK.

Tom always talked hunting especially when with his Grandson Zach. He was hard working often sacrificing his body for his work. Great story to Tom's shagrin was taking Robin deer hunting for her first time and she was the one who came home with the deer. Moving to Motley and then retiring was heaven to Tom. I'll miss his laugh and smile and the great person he was. Sorry Robin and Jackie and Zach.
