Shirley and I have been friends since I started 9th grade at Franklin when rural schools consolidated with Brainerd. As I found new friends Shirley and I discovered our “passion for action” which drew us together. Over the years we shared swimming, scuba diving, water and snow skiing, snow shoeing, and biking. Kayaking for me and horseback riding for her came later after our kids were grown and we needed some new adventures and reconnecting. The last few years included a very active book club that not only read and reviewed books but that travelled together. We spent time at a cabin on Lake Superior, spent nights at Itaska State Park, and discovered the yurts at the Cuyuna Recreation Area.
To you my friend Shirley I raise a toast to a life well lived. God Bless you and keep you in His care.
