Obituary

Robert John Jenkins, age 77, of Motley, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020
at his home. Bob was born on November 3, 1942 in Fergus Falls to John (Jack) and
Marcella (Wentland) Jenkins.
Bob grew up on the family farm near Philbrook and was a 1961 graduate of Motley high School. He attended Brainerd Junior College and Minnesota Bible College. For many years he lived in Minneapolis and Lacrosse, before returning to Motley in 1987.
Bob was a creative person. His first creative activity, after returning to Motley , was directing the Motley Centennial vintage fashion show.
As well as vintage fashion, he loved antiques, cats, trains, reading Lillian Braun mysteries, history (especially family history), laughing, board games, jazz and classical music, and good food. His favorite travel destination was New Orleans!
His favorite time of the year was Christmas, and he annually decorated his home with lights, trees, animals, vintage Christmas scenes and every form of Christmas-y glittery delight. He frequently used different themes in the overall decoration, including Christmas Mardi Gras! A community open house to share his lights and decorations was offered every year.
Bob was very active and passionate about volunteer work, and over the years volunteered for the local public television stations, food shelves, rural AIDS awareness , the Two Rivers Music Festival, and many other causes and organizations. He was thrilled to have been Minnesota Book of Curiosities as the Highest Voodoo Priest.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Carol (Omar “Bundy”) Johnson, Kathy (Danny White) Jenkins; brothers, Kim Jenkins and Ken (Roxanne) Fleishfresser; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Jeff Olson, as well as many many other friends and relative
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Beverly Kringen, Clyde Jenkins, Shari Detty-Feldpush; infant brother, Gary Lynn Jenkins.

Services for Bob are pending.
In Bob’s word, “No sadness, I’m way to outrageous for that!!”.
He will be deeply missed
