Brad, thank you for sharing these memories of Mary. We are so very grateful to Mary for the very difficult decision to have her son, Josh, adopted to another family. We are that family and can’t say enough about what a gift she gave us. Josh is very special to us and we are very proud of the man, husband and dad that he has become. Again....thank you, Mary. You have reached your “goal”and may you rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus. The Iten family

The past 10 years, she has been in the care of Oakridge Homes / Woodview Support Services living in, among other homes, Long Prairie, Staples, and lastly, Little Falls. When she was doing well, like in the picture below, she enjoyed drinking pop while watching bowling and visiting with staff from other houses, going to movies, shopping at the Bargain Barn or Walmart, going out to eat, and using her humor, openly saying one time of a KC pancake breakfast, "It was 75 percent good!" She participated in the Valentine's Day dance at the Clarissa Ballroom and the Spring Fiesta Dance at the Elks Club in Wadena. She really enjoyed the music as that was always one of her most treasured times listening at those events or at home in her room from often mentioned radio. She always kept plugging away at her personal goals as well, telling me (Brad) often on the phone, "I'm really working on myself Brad, on getting better, and reaching my goals." Oakridge Homes Staff did a great job working with Mary through all the good and sometimes, very challenging days. Thanks Oakridge, from Mary.
