Delores M. "Susie"  Smith
Delores “Susie” M. Smith, age 69 of Philbrook, passed away on May 6, 2017, at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, with visitation starting at 10 AM. Visitation will also be from 4-7pm on Wednesday at Taylor Funeral and Cremation Care, Staples. Interment will be at St. James Cemetery in Philbrook.

Delores was born on June 16, 1947, in Mandan, ND to Casper and Pauline (Weber) Berger, the youngest of 16 children. Susie was a very active member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in motley. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Lakewood Health System for many years, she also cleaned houses and worked at Madden’s in Brainerd. Susie had a passion for crocheting, quilting and gardening.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Clarence; children, Leonard (Lisa Nobel), Paul (Michelle), Connie (Jeff) Bello, Stacy (Tom) Beckner, Carol (Derrick) Longworth; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Clara Wirtz, Mae Steele, Albert Berger, Virgina Jones; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Casper and Pauline Berger, and 11 Siblings. John, Monica, Isabel, Tony, Anna Mary, Kennth, Richard, Joseph, James, Kasper and Leveratus.
