Obituary for Carol J "Kaye" Vukelich

Carol Juliene “Kaye” Vukelich, age 83 of Staples, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the St Cloud Hospital. Carol (better known as Kaye) was born in Staples on March 5, 1938 to LeRoy & Gladys (Rots) Kennedy. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church of Staples. Kaye attended both Lincoln grade school and Staples High School, graduating in 1956. Kaye worked at Minneapolis Honeywell after graduation until the death of her mother in 1957, she then came home to care for her father. She married William Vukelich in Staples on July 4, 1959. Kaye worked while in school at Skelly’s Café, Wimpy’s Café & Nettie’s Café. After her marriage, Kaye worked at Staples Rexall Drug, McCourtney’s and The Mary Rondoff Home. While living temporary in White Bear Lake, Kaye worked at Taymark, but came home every weekend to her home in Staples.
Kaye was a member of the VFW Post Auxiliary 1910. Her special hobbies include, fishing, gardening and reading. Her favorite pastime was spending time on her back porch and enjoying her flowers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Bill; children: Chad, Chet (Nina) and Fawnya (Tim Dawson) Day; sisters: Betty (Ron) Starke, Eulalia Schultz, Edie Sapp; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Beulah; brothers: Dick, Bob, Roy and Elton; daughter-in-law, LaVonne Vukelich; great-grandson, Cody.
A funeral service will be held for Kaye on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11AM at the Staples Alliance Church. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 5-7PM at The Taylor Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service, Monday at the Church.

Funeral services for Kaye will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11AM at Staples Alliance Church. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 5-7PM at Taylor Funeral Home in Staples, and one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church.
